What is EARTHPILOT?

EP is a small independent clothing company based out of Philadelphia. EP was started in 1994 by Brian Brossman and operated until 2000 when it fizzled out. Revived by myself (Brian’s son) in 2017 while I was a sophomore in high school. EP is pushed forward by a passion for creation and a determination to make it happen.

What is this book?

This book is a way of experiencing the brand aesthetically. A traditional lookbook might be primarily simple shots of merchandise; given out or sold to perspective customers as a means to sell garments and accessories. That’s boring. This book is a visual experience for the viewer, and serves to build understanding and connection with the viewer. Its service is more so that of a work of art than as a consumer product.

This book combines street, product, and model photography with expressive typography and brand symbols. This styling embodies the grit and determination of the brand and the city of Philadelphia which inspires it.

Paragraphs appear throughout the book to provide context for the book or to make the viewer slow down and think further about what they are seeing. When these are original texts as opposed to pulled excerpts the typewriter text appears to inform the reader that this is in the voice of EARTHPILOT and is directly related to the brand.

To compliment the book I also created several branded posters and postcards. These items serve as bonus which would ship in the packaging along with the lookbook or clothing item purchased.

These posters serve to show how these aesthetics established within the book might be applied to brand elements which are not directly related to the clothing merchandise.
